"As always," continues Charles, "your hand-carved, random stone will successfully incorporate all cracks and control joints as part of the design. Cracks cannot be deco coated over and ignored. They will return as an imperfection. At the same time, we are solving elevation issues and re-pairing
un-leveled concrete or adding more concrete area, as requested."
Though the antique stone weathered very well, Charles has advanced the texture process to smooth and soften the stone, which results in a surface that looks like real stone and cleans easier when maintenance is required. Only antique stone textures weather well and actually improve with time.
"Your heavily sealed coating will require fewer re-seals," explains Charles. "If you like natural stone with low gloss, maybe only every four to six years. If you like shine or that 'new look' no more than every three years is recommend. Also when resealing, we can add antique seal, which gives much more beauty to the stone and at a low cost."
Keeping your coating as clean as possible requires good drainage, so Charles corrects clogging deck drains, replacing them as necessary. "We don't stop there," he says. "We add French drains on pool decks and driveways to solve standing water problems. Hosing off your deck and having no place to wash the soiled water? We have drains for this, also. And all of this will minimize your mold and algae problems."
